The BMW Group is the world’s leading premium provider of cars, motorcycles, premium finance and mobility services and the home of four brands: BMW, MINI, Rolls-Royce and BMW Motorrad brands. Our production network comprises over 30 manufacturing facilities across the globe, and we also operate a worldwide sales network with representatives in over 140 countries.
In 2023 the BMW Group sold almost 2.55 million cars and over 209,000 motorcycles around the world. Pre-tax profits for the year amounted to €17.1 billion and revenues to €155.5 billion. As of 31 December 2023, we employed 154,950 people worldwide.

The BMW Group operates a global production network, with eight BMW plants in Germany, one plant in San Luis Potosí (Mexico), one in Spartanburg (USA), two in South America and one in Rosslyn (South Africa), as well as facilities sites in the UK, two in India and two in China. All of them are united by one thing: the promise of premium mobility made by the BMW Group. From the press- and bodyshops to the paintshop and assembly, the process of manufacturing is highly specialised and precise. Our focus in production is on the customer and sustainability along the value chain.

To ensure this, our research and innovation networks around the world share a common goal: to sustain and enhance the innovativeness of the BMW Group and make it real for customers to use. Our passion for progress has spawned numerous R&D centres across the globe that are in constant contact not just with each other, but with partners from outside the automotive industry as well. We are especially proud of our Startup Garage, numerous IT hubs and tech offices, and our DesignWorks. Our R&D centre in Munich is one of the largest of its kind in Europe.
